Mechanical Engineering BSME General Electives (List 2)


A maximum of seven credits may be selected from this list (may vary by year started). 

As few as zero credits may be selected from this list. A total of 13 credits of advanced engineering and general electives must be completed by a student. 

Courses cannot satisfy two requirements.

Any course from School of Engineering which does not duplicate material required for the BSME curriculum1 (courses must obtain KUME approval prior to receiving credit) 

Mechanical Engineering

ME 360 Mech. Engr. Problems  

ME 361 Undergrad Honors Research 

Business and Economics

Business

Any course from School of Business

Economics

Any ECON course

KU Core Courses

Any course accepted for the KU Core beyond what is used to satisfy the requirements for the KU Core or the BSME degree

Other Electives

Foreign Language

Any course from a foreign language department (in a non-native language)

Music

Any course from the School of Music

Any course from the School of Architecture, Design and Planning

ROTC

ROTC credit is accepted only for students who complete the ROTC program

 Introductory engineering discipline courses outside of ME will not be accepted once a student is declared as a Mechanical Engineering Major.
